The Diploma

The 2.5‑year Diploma in Traditional Malay Medicine provides students with in‑depth knowledge of Malay traditional healing systems, herbal pharmacopeia, diagnostic techniques, therapeutic modalities (massage, cupping, steam therapy), and principles of holistic patient care. Through practical clinic sessions, herb identification and formulation laboratories, community health placements, and case‑based learning, students develop skills in patient assessment, treatment planning, safe herbal preparation, record keeping, and adherence to regulatory and ethical standards. The programme also covers basic anatomy, pharmacovigilance, integration with modern healthcare, and research methods in traditional medicine. Graduates are prepared for roles such as traditional medicine practitioner, natural therapy therapist, herbal product developer, wellness centre manager or community health facilitator, with pathways to advanced study and professional certification in traditional and complementary medicine.
